Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk took part in a closed ministerial session of P-TEC and spoke at the panel discussion “Partnership for Energy: Supporting Ukraine’s Energy System Under Attack” on the sidelines of the Ministerial Meeting of the Partnership for Transatlantic Energy Cooperation in Athens.

The Minister stressed that abandoning Russian energy resources and technologies is one of the key steps to stop financing the terrorist state that kills Ukrainian civilians every day, including energy workers.

“It is necessary to jointly seek ways to replace Russia in global energy markets, strengthen cooperation, and enhance our common energy independence. Developing cooperation in this direction is a guarantee of energy security for the whole of Europe,” said Svitlana Grynchuk.

The Minister thanked partners for the financial assistance already provided to Ukraine, for supplying energy equipment, and for supporting the import of additional gas volumes to ensure a stable heating season.

According to her, Russia is systematically trying to provoke a humanitarian crisis in Ukraine during the winter period by striking critical infrastructure. Therefore, uniting international efforts is crucial — the civilized world must act together to prevent this.

“Our common task is to build a new European energy architecture with no place for Russian gas, oil, nuclear fuel, or technologies,” the Minister emphasized.
