14 August 2025, 21:30

Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk visited the Kharkiv region, which remains under constant enemy attacks on its energy infrastructure. Despite daily shelling, emergency repair works are ongoing, and preparations for the heating season are proceeding on schedule.

During the working visit, the Minister, together with Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov, inspected the progress of engineering protection works at energy facilities. With the participation of Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko, they also reviewed the construction of a Regional Monitoring and Analytical Centre, which will provide rapid coordination in responding to threats to the region’s energy system in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Emergency Service.

“The key priority is the physical protection of infrastructure facilities and strengthening air defence. We must be ready for any scenario,” said Minister Svitlana Grynchuk. “Thanks to the decision of the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, regional enterprises have already received over EUR 201 million to cover their immediate needs.”

During a meeting with the heads of energy companies, the discussion focused on the challenges hindering repair works: active hostilities, mined territories, and equipment shortages. The Minister emphasised the importance of building up a reserve of technical resources and outlined key areas for further cooperation with international partners.

Svitlana Grynchuk also presented departmental awards from the Ministry of Energy to Kharkiv region’s energy sector workers in recognition of their tireless work.
