Ukraine’s Minister of Energy Svitlana Grynchuk met with Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA), on the sidelines of the G7 Energy and Environment Ministers’ Meeting in Toronto, Canada.

“Russia continues its attacks on Ukraine’s civilian energy infrastructure, focusing strikes on power generation and transmission facilities. I outlined to the IEA leadership the current situation in Ukraine’s energy system, emphasized the key needs to maintain its stability, and spoke about measures to protect energy assets,” noted Svitlana Grynchuk.

The Minister highlighted that among Ukraine’s top priorities are high-voltage equipment and resources to expand distributed generation capacity, which are essential for strengthening resilience during wartime conditions.

“Ukraine continues to hold the line — including the energy front. Our partners’ support is a crucial part of this success,” the Minister concluded.
