Svitlana Grynchuk on Consequences of Missile Strike: Energy Workers Operating in Enhanced Mode

10 October 2025, 12:40

Despite another massive Russian missile strike on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, the national power system remains under control. Energy workers have already begun restoring electricity supply in the affected regions, Ukrainian Minister of Energy Svitlana Grynchuk reported during a broadcast of the “Yedyni Novyny” national telethon.

“Last night, the enemy carried out a combined strike, mainly targeting the left-bank regions and power generation facilities. As a result, several regions have introduced emergency power outage schedules to balance the system while energy workers assess equipment conditions and begin restoring power to consumers,” the Minister said.

According to Ms. Grynchuk, repair crews are operating in enhanced mode to promptly restore power supply and stabilize the system following the latest attack.

“Energy workers, rescue workers, and all services are working on site in close coordination. Backup reconnection schemes are being used, and people are gradually getting their power back. We are striving to ensure that power cuts are scheduled and hourly rather than emergency,” said the Minister of Energy.

Ms. Grynchuk called on citizens to rely only on official information sources. The Ministry of Energy will provide updates on the power system status every two hours, including information on electricity supply restoration.

She added that the work of energy and rescue services in the affected regions is being closely coordinated to ensure the quickest possible restoration of electricity and the stable operation of the national power system.
