Verkhovna Rada has appointed Svitlana Grynchuk as the new Minister of Energy of Ukraine.
“Energy is the foundation of the economy. That’s why our key task today is to ensure the country has the resources needed for life and work: light and heat for people, and energy for industry. There is no room for error,” the new head of the Ministry of Energy wrote on her Facebook page following the appointment.
“Our current priorities include preparing for the heating season, restoring energy infrastructure based on sustainability, green transition, and decarbonization, creating a strategic reserve of equipment, building a new decentralized energy system, and its integration with the EU,” Grynchuk added.
She emphasized that a cross-cutting priority is the development of human capital and ensuring a skilled workforce in the sector: “People are our greatest asset.”
Svitlana Grynchuk expressed her gratitude to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko, and members of parliament for their trust.
