The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine has delivered the first shipment of humanitarian assistance from Spain to the Sumy region through its emergency energy assistance hubs. Under this delivery, the region will receive a total of 100 diesel generators, with the first 28 units already delivered.
The assistance was provided by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID). The first shipment includes 28 diesel generators together with engine oil required for commissioning the equipment and carrying out its initial maintenance. The total weight of the cargo is 4.8 tonnes.
The delivered equipment will strengthen the energy resilience of the Sumy region and help provide backup power supply for critical infrastructure facilities and consumers amid the ongoing threats facing the energy infrastructure of this frontline region.
Spain continues to support Ukraine's energy sector by providing equipment essential for restoring damaged infrastructure and ensuring reliable electricity supply.
The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine expresses its sincere gratitude to the Government of Spain and AECID for their unwavering support of Ukraine and Ukrainian power engineers.
