From January through early September 2026, 47 healthcare facilities launched their own electricity generation under the “Ray of Hope” project. The total installed capacity of the solar power plants commissioned at these facilities amounts to 3.5 MW.

Currently, another 123 projects at healthcare facilities are at various stages of implementation.

The commissioning of these 47 facilities was made possible through international support. In particular, 32 facilities were supported with funding from Germany, seven with support from Sweden, four with support from the United Kingdom, two with support from the European Union, and one with support from Belgium.

The “Ray of Hope” programme is a joint initiative of the European Commission, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, implemented within the Ukraine Energy Support Fund and coordinated by the Secretariat of the Energy Community.

The programme aims to strengthen the energy resilience of healthcare facilities by equipping them with solar panels, energy storage systems and other equipment to ensure reliable electricity supply and uninterrupted operation, even under challenging conditions.
