Modern 1 MW battery energy storage systems (BESS) have been delivered from the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine’s emergency energy assistance hubs to energy facilities and healthcare institutions in the Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kharkiv and Kherson regions. The announcement was made by First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal.

According to the Minister, the total value of the delivered equipment exceeds €9 million. The battery energy storage systems were provided by the Swiss company Tetra Laval International SA.

“These energy storage systems will ensure the uninterrupted operation of critical infrastructure facilities and improve the reliability of electricity supply for thermal power plants, hydropower facilities and regional hospitals,” Denys Shmyhal said.

Switzerland continues to provide consistent support to Ukraine’s energy sector, helping strengthen its resilience amid ongoing Russian attacks.
