UK energy companies are interested in expanding their presence in Ukraine and participating in the restoration and development of the Ukrainian energy sector.

That was a subject of discussion at a meeting between Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Roman Andarak and Sarah Jones, Minister of State for Industry at the Department of Business and Trade, Department of Energy Security, UK Net Zero, and UK energy companies.

The parties met within the framework of the Rebuild Ukraine 2024 International Conference in Warsaw.
In particular, they discussed the expansion of cooperation in the areas of distributed generation and decarbonization, renewable and nuclear energy, gas production and the hydrogen industry.

“Ukraine highly values cooperation with its British colleagues. Your participation in the process of rebuilding the Ukrainian energy sector will not only contribute to the sustainability of our energy system, but will also significantly strengthen Ukraine's energy security,” Roman Andarak said.

Sarah Jones assured the participants of the meeting that the UK Government will continue to assist Ukraine, in particular, to promote cooperation at the level of energy companies and attract British investments in the Ukrainian energy sector.

Representatives of the companies Baker Hughes, CMT Power, Pacific Green, Innovo and KBR expressed their readiness to actively participate in the processes of restoration and development of the Ukrainian energy industry and participation in future cooperation projects with Ukrainian companies.
