20 November 2025, 11:10

Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Roman Andarak held a meeting with a delegation of the Danish Energy Agency.

The parties discussed the current cooperation programmes aimed at supporting the resilience of Ukraine’s energy system amid intensified Russian attacks, as well as potential areas for future collaboration.

Representatives of the Ministry of Energy informed their Danish partners about the challenging situation in the energy sector caused by Russia’s systematic strikes on power and gas infrastructure, and outlined the measures being taken to stabilize the system.

Ukraine’s priorities remain unchanged: enhancing the protection of critical energy infrastructure, restoring facilities damaged by attacks, developing renewable energy sources, and advancing decentralization and distributed generation.

Roman Andarak also briefed the delegation on the current needs of the sector, including equipment and materials for repair works, as well as additional gas imports required to ensure stable passage through the winter period.

The Danish side was informed about the recent publication of the European Commission’s Enlargement Report, and the parties outlined further cooperation aimed at harmonizing Ukraine’s energy legislation with EU standards.

The Deputy Minister expressed his gratitude to Denmark for its continuous support, including 12 humanitarian shipments totalling more than 85 tonnes, as well as contributions to the Energy Support Fund for Ukraine, which currently amount to approximately EUR 51 million.

The meeting also covered key areas of cooperation under the Ukrainian-Danish Energy Partnership Programme (UDEPP), including capacity-building and expert support for the Ministry of Energy, projects for the restoration and modernization of the Ukrainian energy sector, and opportunities to attract investment.
