Under the chairmanship of First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal, a regular meeting of the Headquarters for Eliminating the Consequences of Emergencies in Kyiv and the Region was held.
According to Denys Shmyhal, energy specialists are gradually restoring electricity and heat supply.
“Restoration works continue, including clearing debris at damaged facilities. The situation with electricity and heat supply remains challenging. Over 60 electrical crews and 193 heating crews are working on recovery efforts,” emphasized the First Deputy Prime Minister.
He noted that in Kyiv region, efforts to expand distributed generation are ongoing. “20 MW have already been commissioned in the capital and surrounding region, and additional capacities are expected soon. All installations must operate, not just remain idle,” Shmyhal said.
He also highlighted that this week, over 190 tons of humanitarian aid were delivered from the Ministry of Energy’s hub warehouses, with 115 tons distributed today alone, all equipment already en route to the regions.
Ukraine also expects additional contributions to the Energy Support Fund, announced by Sweden, the European Commission, Denmark, and Germany.
“In total, this amounts to over €82.5 million to procure essential equipment. Today alone, the Fund received €6 million in grant support from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. We thank our partners for their solidarity and consistent support,” emphasized Denys Shmyhal.
