Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk held a working meeting with representatives of trade unions from the fuel and energy complex. The discussion focused on social protection and employment, wage payments and debt settlement, digitization of archives, and attracting investment for enterprise development. Particular attention was devoted to the transformation of the coal industry.
“Our shared task is to take care of people and preserve every professional, providing opportunities for retraining and support to ensure that no one is left behind. For Ukraine’s sustainable economic development in the process of post-war reconstruction, we will need skilled professionals, and we cannot afford to lose a single one of them,” emphasized Svitlana Grynchuk.
The meeting also addressed the need to strengthen mechanisms for cooperation between the state and trade unions, ensure occupational safety amid wartime risks, and support energy sector workers, particularly in regions subject to regular shelling.
“The energy sector faces serious challenges in wartime – enterprises under occupation, constant shelling of infrastructure, and the daily work of our people under extremely difficult and dangerous conditions. We need only recall the recent tragedy in Donetsk region, where enemy shelling killed one mine worker and injured three others. In times of war and recovery, we must unite our efforts to preserve human capital and create decent working conditions for everyone,” stressed the Minister.
The meeting was attended by the leadership of sectoral trade unions, including the Nuclear Energy and Industry Workers' Union of Ukraine, Trade Union of Coal Mining Workers of Ukraine, Independent Trade Union of Miners of Ukraine, Oil and Gas Industry Workers' Union, Trade Union of Energy and Electrical Engineering Industry Workers of Ukraine, and the Trade Union of Chemical and Petrochemical Industry Workers of Ukraine.
