Operational Situation in Ukraine’s Power System as of the Morning of January 15

15 January 2026, 10:18

Overnight, the enemy once again carried out strikes on the country’s energy infrastructure, resulting in power outages for consumers in Zhytomyr and Kharkiv regions. Emergency restoration works are ongoing wherever the security situation allows.

The most difficult situation currently remains in Kyiv city and Kyiv region. Network restrictions are in effect in the capital region, which is why previously introduced hourly outage schedules are temporarily not being applied. A return to forecasted schedules will take place after the situation in the power system stabilizes. Restoration works in the capital and Kyiv region continue around the clock despite severe weather conditions.

Network restrictions, as in previous weeks, also remain in Odesa region. Emergency restoration works are continuing there following earlier enemy attacks.

Due to adverse weather, seven settlements in Kyiv and Chernihiv regions remain without electricity. Repair crews of regional power distribution companies are working to restore damaged lines.

Across the country, consumers in frontline and border regions remain without power for extended periods as a result of hostilities. The situation there is the most difficult, as restoration of electricity supply is complicated by ongoing combat operations.

In most regions of Ukraine, hourly power outage schedules are in effect for all categories of consumers, as well as power limitation schedules for industry. In several regions, emergency outages are being applied due to equipment overload amid high electricity consumption during freezing temperatures.

We urge consumers to use electricity rationally throughout the day, especially during peak consumption hours in the morning and evening. This helps reduce the load on the system.
