Over the weekend, Odesa region experienced one of the most massive Russian attacks. The enemy deliberately targeted electricity distribution and transmission facilities, including substations operated by NPC Ukrenergo. This was reported by Oleksandr Havva during a live broadcast of the United News national telethon.

According to him, the shelling damaged energy, transport, industrial, and civilian infrastructure facilities. Emergency repair and restoration works began immediately once the security situation allowed.

An Anti-Crisis штаб for the restoration and stabilization of the energy infrastructure in the southern regions of the country has been deployed to address the consequences of the attacks.

“Yesterday, under the leadership of Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko, a coordination meeting was held with the participation of relevant ministries and the management of energy companies. Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Oleksandr Viazovchenko is currently in Odesa region and, together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Emergency Service, and specialized services, is coordinating efforts to restore power supply,” Oleksandr Havva noted.

Within 24 hours, energy workers managed to partially restore electricity supply to critical infrastructure facilities in Odesa city and the region. Using backup power schemes, electricity was restored to nearly 100,000 customers. Heat supply has been restored for more than 260,000 consumers. Gas supply in the region is operating as usual.

In addition, 763 Points of Invincibility are functioning in the region. Due to temporary disruptions to water supply in certain areas, the delivery of drinking and technical water has been organized.

“Our top priority is to restore electricity and heat supply to the population as quickly as possible and ensure the stable operation of critical infrastructure facilities. Energy workers are operating in an enhanced mode, taking into account security restrictions, to minimize the consequences of enemy attacks,” Oleksandr Havva added.
