Given the ongoing Russian attacks on Ukraine’s gas infrastructure, work continues to increase natural gas reserves, Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk said during the United News national telethon.
“We are grateful to our partners, European countries, and international financial institutions that are helping us increase our natural gas reserves,” said Svitlana Grynchuk.
According to her, Norway will provide Ukraine with additional support for gas procurement. “We will continue to work with our partners to secure resources and import as much natural gas as possible,” the Minister emphasized.
Earlier today, Norway announced an additional energy assistance package worth about USD 150 million to help Ukraine purchase gas for the winter season. This was stated by Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre during his meeting with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Oslo.
This is the third energy assistance package from Norway this year, bringing the country’s total contribution to around USD 400 million.
