Norway has made a new contribution of more than EUR 44.6 million (NOK 500 million) to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, bringing the Kingdom's total contribution to EUR 209.2 million.

"We are grateful to Norway for its continued support of Ukraine's energy sector. This new contribution to the Fund will help strengthen the resilience of Ukraine's power system, particularly as we prepare for the next heating season. Through the Fund's mechanisms, donor contributions finance the procurement of critical equipment needed to restore damaged energy infrastructure and expand generating capacity. These remain among our highest priorities today," said Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

The Ukraine Energy Support Fund (UESF) was established in spring 2022 in coordination with the European Commission and the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine to address the consequences of Russia's attacks on Ukraine's critical energy infrastructure.

Since its establishment, the Fund has received more than EUR 2 billion in grant contributions from 39 donors representing 26 partner countries and three international organisations.

The Fund serves as an effective mechanism enabling governments, international financial institutions, international organisations, and corporate donors to provide financial assistance for restoring damaged energy infrastructure and ensuring the reliable operation of Ukraine's energy sector.
