First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal met with the Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development, Aukje de Vries. The discussions focused on continued support for Ukraine’s energy system, in particular the provision of equipment for gas production.

“I am grateful for the assistance already provided and planned for Ukraine. This is vital support for our energy sector,” Denys Shmyhal stated.

During the meeting, the Minister briefed Aukje de Vries on the current situation in the energy sector and the impact of Russia’s daily shelling of critical infrastructure.

“Ukraine is doing everything possible to restore electricity and heat supply to homes as quickly as possible,” the Minister emphasized.

The parties also paid special attention to expanding cooperation between Ukrainian and Dutch energy companies to support the restoration and modernization of Ukraine’s energy system.

Denys Shmyhal thanked Aukje de Vries for her visit to Kyiv and for the Netherlands’ solidarity with the Ukrainian people during this difficult time.
