Mykola Kolisnyk: Energy Workers Continue Restoring Damage to Energy Facilities Across Several Regions

Energy workers continue eliminating the consequences of recent Russian strikes on energy facilities in several regions. This was reported by Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Energy Mykola Kolisnyk during a broadcast of the United News national telethon.

According to him, as of the evening of 19 September, more than 46,000 consumers in the Kharkiv region remain without electricity due to the shelling. Over 3,000 consumers have been long-term disconnected in the Chernihiv region, and more than 8,000 in the Zaporizhzhia region. Power outages are also recorded in the Sumy and Dnipropetrovsk regions following this morning’s attacks.

“The situation in the energy system remains difficult but manageable. Despite the enemy’s intentions and ongoing shelling, we are maintaining the integrity of the system and continuously working to restore power to consumers,” the Deputy Minister noted.

Energy workers have promptly activated backup supply schemes, which made it possible to stabilize the operating modes of the power system. In several regions, up to four stages of hourly outage schedules are currently in place. During emergency repair and restoration works, energy crews aim to reduce the duration of these schedules as much as possible.

“We are trying to transition from emergency outages to planned ones as quickly as possible to ensure the system operates in a controlled manner. The enemy used a significant amount of weaponry, launching targeted strikes on civilian energy infrastructure and electricity transmission facilities. This is yet another large-scale challenge for the energy sector,” Mykola Kolisnyk emphasized.

The Deputy Minister also noted that the Ministry of Energy remains in constant communication with international partners, informing them about damaged equipment and current needs. This ensures continuous cooperation and systematic implementation of emergency repair and restoration works.
