Our children are the most valuable thing we have, and their safety must remain a priority at all times and in all circumstances. It is the responsibility of adults to ensure this and to teach children how to respond appropriately in crisis situations.
As part of the National Accessibility Week, trainers from the European Society of Occupational Safety and Health (ESOSH) conducted the child safety course “Lion’s Protection” for the children of employees of the Ministry of Energy, the State Agency of Ukraine on Exclusion Zone Management, and energy sector enterprises.
Together with ESOS trainer and international safety and crisis response expert Felix Tymchenko, the children learned to recognize danger signals, discussed appropriate and inappropriate actions, and explored safe response strategies. During the training, participants practiced combining psychological approaches with basic self-protection skills.
Such initiatives contribute to fostering a culture of safety, support, and attentiveness to children’s needs, while also underscoring the importance of creating a safe and child-friendly environment for employees’ families.
The event was held as part of the National Accessibility Week within the framework of the implementation of the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Environment in Ukraine through 2030, initiated by First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska.
