Ukraine's Minister of Energy, German Galushchenko, during his speech at the international conference ReBuild Ukraine Construction and Energy in Warsaw, expressed his gratitude to the partners and allies for their technical and financial support to the energy system during the preparation for the heating season and urged them to intensify support throughout the winter.
"In particular, thanks to the support of our partners, we were able to adequately prepare for the autumn-winter period. The energy sector timely approved all planned repairs and carried out equipment preparation, as well as managed to restore some of the infrastructure destroyed by russia. We are grateful for this support, but we expect that during the winter, the most challenging period, the volume of technical and financial assistance to our energy system will increase," said German Galushchenko.
He especially thanked the Ukrainian military and air defense forces for ensuring the protection of energy infrastructure facilities.
The threat of enemy attacks on nuclear energy facilities and the critical infrastructure necessary for their operation remains pressing. Ukraine, together with international partners, including the IAEA, is working to ensure the maximum security of nuclear energy facilities from enemy attacks.
Ukrainian energy workers, during nearly three years of full-scale invasion and unprecedented attacks on energy infrastructure, have gained unique resilience experience.
The destruction caused by the war has inflicted serious damage to the energy infrastructure, impacting all aspects of life for Ukrainians. This conference marks a moment for uniting our collective knowledge and resources to outline the course for a reliable and sustainable energy future for Ukraine and the world.
All representatives of the international community assured during the opening that they would continue their consistent support of Ukraine in its fight against russian terror.
Specifically, this international conference should serve as a powerful reminder of the need for further mobilization of efforts from all partner countries to assist Ukraine, with the energy sector, significantly damaged by enemy attacks, is one of the main priorities.
The goal of Rebuild Ukraine 2024 is to consolidate the efforts of Ukrainian and international businesses to reconstruct and renovate Ukraine.
The conference is attended by representatives of the Ukrainian and European governments, local authorities, international financial institutions, donors, investors, and leaders in the construction industry.
