The Ministry of Energy Discussed International Support for the Protection of Energy Infrastructure Facilities

A meeting was held at the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine with representatives of partner countries’ Embassies to discuss international assistance for protecting critical energy infrastructure facilities. The event was attended by First Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Yurii Sheiko, Deputy Minister of Energy Mykola Kolisnyk, Attachés of diplomatic missions in Ukraine, representatives of energy companies, electricity transmission system and gas transmission system operators of Ukraine, as well as the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“The enemy continues to attack not only the electricity infrastructure but also the gas infrastructure of our country. Despite this, our specialists, energy workers, gas industry professionals, and repair services are doing everything possible to overcome the consequences of these attacks, ensuring that our energy and gas systems continue to operate and that our people have light and heat. The protection of facilities is of great importance, and we thank our partners for their cooperation in this area,” emphasized Yuriy Sheiko.

The meeting participants reviewed the measures being taken to strengthen the protection of energy facilities, including the effectiveness of air defense systems, engineering structures, fortifications, and other types of physical security.

Particular attention was given to further needs and areas of cooperation with partners to address them, including through the mechanisms of the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.

Representatives of diplomatic missions expressed their admiration for Ukraine’s ability to maintain the resilience of its energy system under constant russian attacks and reaffirmed their readiness to continue providing support.
