Despite another wave of massive Russian attacks, Ukraine’s power system remains stable and under control. Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Mykola Kolisnyk reported this during the national telethon “United News.”
“The most difficult situation is currently in the frontline regions — Sumy and Chernihiv. In Shostka, repair works and reconnection of consumers, as well as the restoration of natural gas supply, are underway. In Chernihiv region, the reconnection process continues overall,” he said.
According to Mykola Kolisnyk, the Ministry of Energy is coordinating the work of energy, gas, and emergency services on the ground and providing energy companies with the necessary equipment. These teams are carrying out emergency repair and restoration works, connecting backup power sources, and implementing contingency schemes to restore electricity, gas, and heat to the population as quickly as possible.
“Under the instruction of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy, the Ministry of Energy ensures coordination of recovery efforts in the affected regions. My colleague Artem Nekrasov is currently on site, coordinating the work of all services. Operations continue around the clock despite constant air raid alerts and the risk of repeated attacks,” emphasized the Deputy Minister.
As a result of the latest enemy attacks, energy infrastructure facilities were damaged in Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions. Energy workers immediately began restoration works to resume power supply and stabilize the situation as soon as possible. Despite ongoing and intense shelling across all frontline regions, specialists are responding promptly and continuing their work.
Mykola Kolisnyk also reported that the enemy once again targeted gas production and transmission facilities, but gas workers immediately started recovery efforts. “As President Volodymyr Zelenskiy noted, Russia will continue to do everything possible to hinder Ukraine’s development of its own gas production. Therefore, under his instruction, the Ministry of Energy is working with international partners to attract financing and ensure the rapid repair of damaged equipment,” the Deputy Minister said.
The Ministry of Energy continues to coordinate the work of energy and gas sector specialists to maintain the stable operation of Ukraine’s energy system, promptly respond to the consequences of attacks, and restore energy supply across all affected regions.
