Deputy Ministers of Energy Anatolii Kutsevol and Valentyna Moskalenko held a meeting with representatives of the Belgian Development Agency Enabel. The parties discussed priority areas for supporting Ukraine’s energy sector and critical infrastructure, in particular ensuring uninterrupted energy supply to regions affected by enemy attacks.

Anatolii Kutsevol thanked Belgium for its consistent support and emphasized that due to constant missile and drone strikes, a large part of the country’s population is forced to live without electricity and heat.

“The situation is critical. Constant attacks are destroying energy infrastructure, and we see how many people are living in difficult conditions without electricity, heat, and water. The most important task now is to restore critical facilities as quickly as possible, strengthen the energy resilience of cities and communities, and coordinate actions with international partners to provide prompt assistance,” the Deputy Minister noted.

He also stressed that a priority is the оперативне redeployment of generators and equipment to regions with the greatest needs, as well as the efficient use of available resources to ensure the uninterrupted operation of critical infrastructure, even under challenging conditions.

The participants paid special attention to the installation of mobile shelters for energy sector personnel in high-risk areas, the implementation of energy efficiency and solar generation projects at municipal facilities, and the organization of training programs for Ukrainian energy professionals.

Deputy Minister Valentyna Moskalenko added: “We are focusing on short-term and medium-term solutions that will make it possible to ensure the safe and stable operation of critical infrastructure as quickly as possible.”

The parties also discussed ways to accelerate procurement procedures and support municipalities in equipment delivery in order to ensure the safe and stable operation of critical infrastructure as soon as possible.
