The Lviv region has received a gas engine cogeneration power plant from Finland through the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine’s emergency energy assistance hubs. The unit is intended to provide backup power for a critical infrastructure facility in the region.

The delivered cogeneration unit, with an electrical capacity of 1.56 MW and a thermal capacity of 1.5 MW, will ensure reliable backup power supply for critical infrastructure facilities, even in the event of electricity outages.

The installation will simultaneously generate electricity and heat, reducing the load on the power system while enhancing the reliability of essential services for residents of the Lviv region.

Finland continues to support Ukraine’s energy sector by strengthening the resilience of critical infrastructure and helping ensure the uninterrupted operation of essential public services.
