Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Hanna Lihun took part in the opening of the semi-final stage of the professional skills competition for emergency dispatch service teams of Gas Distribution Networks of Ukraine LLC.
The competition brings together teams representing the company’s regional branches from across the country. Its purpose is to enhance the professional training of personnel, improve practical emergency response skills, and facilitate the exchange of experience among specialists in the gas distribution sector.
Participants complete both theoretical and practical tasks that simulate real-life operational scenarios. The competition assesses professional knowledge, response speed, compliance with safety requirements, and effective teamwork.
Hanna Lihun emphasized that the reliability of gas supply and the safety of consumers largely depend on the professionalism of emergency dispatch services.
“Emergency dispatch service personnel provide round-the-clock response to incidents and ensure the prompt elimination of emergency situations. Under martial law, their work has become even more important, as the safety of people and the stable operation of gas distribution infrastructure depend on the speed and quality of their response,” the Deputy Minister stated.
The competition forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the human resource capacity of the gas distribution sector, enhance safety standards, and improve the reliability of Ukraine’s gas distribution system.
