Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Hanna Lihun held a meeting with representatives of the Embassy of the United States of America in Ukraine and the U.S. Department of State. The parties discussed preparations for the upcoming heating season, the development of Ukraine’s gas production sector, and prospects for deepening Ukrainian-American cooperation.

Hanna Lihun thanked the United States for its consistent support of Ukraine’s energy sector and emphasized that expanding domestic natural gas production remains one of the key priorities of Ukraine’s energy policy.

“Increasing domestic gas production is an important factor in strengthening Ukraine’s energy security and enhancing the resilience of the energy system,” the Deputy Minister noted.

Particular attention was paid to attracting investment into the gas production sector, creating favourable conditions for international partners, and expanding cooperation between Ukrainian and American companies in the energy industry.

Representatives of the U.S. side expressed their interest in further developing the partnership with Ukraine and supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening energy security.
