The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved amendments to the Procedure for conducting electronic auctions for the sale of electricity under bilateral contracts.
The adopted decision grants the transmission system operator (NPC Ukrenergo) the right to participate in special auction sessions for the sale of bundled lots in order to purchase electricity to cover technological electricity losses during the period of martial law. This will enable the operator to procure electricity through special auctions at more predictable and often lower prices.
Implementation of the Government’s decision will help optimize the electricity transmission tariff and, accordingly, reduce the cost of electricity for consumers, in particular for industrial users.
At the same time, it should be noted that transmission tariffs do not affect the final electricity price for household consumers.
