The parties also discussed liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies through German infrastructure and the involvement of European companies in the operation of Ukrainian gas storage facilities.
Particular attention was devoted to the restoration of the New Safe Confinement at the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant. Denys Shmyhal thanked Germany for its intention to provide EUR 50 million towards the restoration of the facility and invited German partners to participate in the EBRD Donor Conference in Paris on 9 November.
The parties also discussed Ukraine’s experience in constructing protective structures at energy facilities and the possibility of jointly developing new technical solutions.
