Germany Plans to Allocate Additional Energy Aid of Around €4.8 Million – Denys Shmyhal

First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal met with the German Ambassador to Ukraine, Heiko Thoms, to discuss the implementation of Ukrainian-German energy projects and strengthening Germany’s support.

Denys Shmyhal noted that Ukraine relies on continued partnership with Germany to strengthen the resilience of Ukraine’s energy system.

“Germany is currently considering an additional tranche of approximately €4.8 million – relevant binding agreements have already been signed. We are also working on obtaining cogeneration equipment for the most vulnerable regions, including Dnipropetrovsk Oblast,” said First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal.

As reported by Denys Shmyhal, Germany has already delivered 242 humanitarian shipments totaling 2,887 tons. Key items include transformers, generators, electric motors, and solar panels. Particularly critical for Ukraine is the provision of gas turbines.

First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal thanked Germany for its largest contributions to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine, which totals €552.4 million in grant support.
