The Minister of Energy of Ukraine, German Galushchenko, held a meeting with a French delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Trade and French Citizens Abroad, Laurent Saint-Martin. The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Ukraine, Gaël Veyssière.
"We can feel France’s support in many areas of the energy sector. This includes projects involving EDF and Energoatom, as well as several other companies, which enable us to enhance the resilience of our energy system and strengthen Ukraine’s overall energy security," said the Minister of Energy.
German Galushchenko expressed gratitude to France for its assistance to Ukraine’s energy sector, provided since the first days of russia’s full-scale invasion. This support included 37 shipments of humanitarian aid totaling over 313.6 tons, consisting of generators, power transformers, and other essential energy equipment.
Special emphasis was placed on France’s contribution of €5.7 million to Ukraine Energy Support Fund , that was directed to the nuclear sector.
French representatives expressed admiration for Ukraine’s ability to maintain the stability of its energy system amid Russian attacks and assured that France would continue to support Ukraine’s energy sector.
Discussions covered areas for deepening cooperation in the nuclear industry, network development, electricity distribution systems, as well as financial instruments and mechanisms for collaboration.
