The Minister of Energy of Ukraine, German Galushchenko, held an online meeting with Canada’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Jonathan Wilkinson.
The parties discussed the situation in Ukraine’s energy system in light of ongoing russian attacks and possible avenues of assistance.
"We have endured another wartime winter. Despite russia’s targeted attacks, which have been ongoing for more than three years, Ukraine’s energy system remains intact and continues to meet consumer needs," noted German Galushchenko.
The Minister outlined the priorities for restoring and strengthening energy resilience, expressing special gratitude for the support and the decision to allocate 50 million Canadian dollars to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.
Jonathan Wilkinson assured that Canada would continue to support Ukraine, including its energy sector, in the future.
