The Minister of Energy of Ukraine, German Galushchenko, held a meeting with the Special Envoy of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Reconstruction and Resilience of Ukraine, Davide La Cecilia.
During the meeting, the Minister briefed the Italian Special Envoy on the current state of Ukraine's fuel and energy sector and the consequences of regular russian attacks on the energy system.
"They attack energy infrastructure every night and every day—generation and electricity transmission facilities, and recently also gas production facilities. However, after each attack, we promptly carry out restoration and repair work. And despite all of russia's attempts to destroy Ukraine's energy sector, we manage to maintain the system," he stated.
The parties also discussed preparations for the Ukraine Recovery Conference, which is scheduled to take place in Italy this summer. Among the key areas of focus are the implementation of joint projects in both the short term and within the broader context of the major energy transition and long-term goals.
Davide La Cecilia assured that Italy will continue to support Ukraine, emphasizing that energy remains one of the priority areas of assistance.
