Ukrainian Minister of Energy German Galushchenko held an online meeting with US Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm.

The parties discussed the current situation in the Ukrainian energy system in the context of intensive enemy shelling of energy infrastructure facilities and areas of cooperation between Ukraine and the US to counter russian energy terror.

The head of the Ministry of Energy emphasized that this year alone, russian federation has carried out 12 massive attacks on the Ukrainian energy sector, as a result of which 10 GW of generating capacity was destroyed.

The Minister emphasized the threats to nuclear and radiation safety in connection with russian attacks on substations that are critical for the operation of Ukrainian nuclear power plants, as well as flights of enemy drones over nuclear facilities.

Special attention was paid to the protection of energy facilities, in particular by strengthening the Ukrainian air defense system.

Jennifer Granholm assured that the United States will continue to assist Ukraine in resisting russian aggression, supporting, in particular, the Ukrainian energy sector.
