The first two stages of the special session for the sale of electricity under long-term bilateral contracts have been successfully completed. All electricity volumes offered for sale were fully allocated, with the auction results demonstrating strong market interest in the new mechanism.

The auctions were conducted through special trading sessions offering standard product packages with delivery periods covering August–September and August–December 2026.

The auctions were initiated by JSC NNEGC Energoatom and PJSC Ukrhydroenergo.

  • Energoatom sold 405,667 MWh of electricity. The weighted average selling price ranged from UAH 5,012.53/MWh to UAH 6,255.64/MWh, depending on the delivery period.
  • Ukrhydroenergo sold 56,481 MWh of electricity. The weighted average selling price ranged from UAH 4,700/MWh to UAH 6,336.07/MWh.

A total of 53 companies participated in the auctions held on 13–14 July, resulting in 21 successful bidders. During the sessions held on 20–21 July, 28 purchasing companies took part, with 15 winners selected.

The introduction of long-term auctions creates more predictable market conditions, enables participants to plan electricity procurement over extended periods, improves revenue predictability for state-owned electricity producers, and contributes to the development of a competitive and transparent electricity market in Ukraine. The new mechanism also creates additional opportunities for attracting investment into the energy sector.

The next stage will be held on 27 July 2026, when auctions for electricity sales under bilateral contracts with a delivery period from August 2026 through June 2027 will take place. The conclusion of 11-month contracts will provide both producers and buyers with greater price and resource predictability while further strengthening the stability of Ukraine's electricity market.
