As part of the Ukrainian Energy Initiative launched by the UN Global Compact in Ukraine, an online course titled “Energy Specialist” has been launched to support the training and retraining of professionals for the energy sector.

The programme is implemented within the framework of promoting talent development in the energy industry and aims to strengthen the sector’s human capital capacity amid the recovery and modernization of Ukraine’s energy system.

The training is conducted online via the OPTIMA distance learning college platform and is open to all individuals aged 18 and above, regardless of their previous education or professional background.

The course programme includes:

  • a basic course in electrical engineering;
  • industrial electrical safety;
  • overhead power transmission lines;
  • operation of electricity metering equipment;
  • modern principles of power system operation.

The course combines theoretical training, practical case studies, and learning sessions involving experts from the energy sector. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate and the opportunity to attend interviews with leading energy companies.

The Ukrainian Energy Initiative of the UN Global Compact in Ukraine brings together representatives of business, international partners, the expert community, and the public sector to support the recovery and modernization of Ukraine’s energy system.
