Following a competitive selection process, the Supervisory Board of JSC “NAEK “Energoatom” selected Yurii Tkachuk as the winner of the competition for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Pavlo Pavlyshyn as the winner of the competition for the position of Chief Nuclear Officer (CNO).

The competitions for both positions were held from June to September 2026.

The CEO and CNO positions were introduced as part of Energoatom’s new corporate governance model. The CEO will be responsible for the company’s operations and development, while the CNO will have separate powers in matters of nuclear and radiation safety and the operation of nuclear power units. This approach is in line with the practices of major international nuclear power operators.

The open and independent competitive selection process was conducted in accordance with best international practices and corporate governance principles.

The candidates will be appointed after the completion of the statutory, regulatory and corporate procedures required. The appointment of the CNO also requires an individual licence under legislation governing the use of nuclear energy. Following the completion of the relevant procedures, Energoatom will submit Pavlo Pavlyshyn’s candidacy for such a licence.
