During the international conference ReBuild Ukraine Construction and Energy in Warsaw, the Minister of Energy of Ukraine, German Galushchenko, held a meeting with the Special Envoy for Ukraine at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Erica Schouten.
The parties discussed ways to deepen bilateral cooperation in the process of restoring and developing Ukraine's energy sector, particularly at the level of private companies.
"One of our key tasks at the moment is strengthening the resilience of the Ukrainian energy system through decentralization and the development of distributed generation. The development of renewable energy, particularly wind and solar generation, is of particular importance," said German Galushchenko.
He emphasized that Ukraine is interested in deepening cooperation with international partners in this area and attracting the necessary investments.
Particular emphasis was placed on the prospects of implementing innovative solutions for building energy infrastructure locally, specifically the development of distributed generation and smart grids.
The Minister noted that the Ministry of Energy is ready to facilitate the establishment of contacts with foreign companies to expand their presence in the Ukrainian market.
The parties also discussed financial instruments for attracting investments in the development of Ukraine's energy sector.
German Galushchenko thanked the Netherlands for its support to Ukraine's energy sector since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion. The Dutch side assured that they will continue this support, particularly for Ukraine to get through the current heating season.
