First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal visited the production facilities of Siemens Energy in Berlin.
As Denys Shmyhal noted, the company remains a reliable partner of Ukraine in strengthening the country’s energy resilience. Siemens Energy supplies critically important high-voltage equipment within the framework of the Ukraine Energy Support Fund and provides humanitarian assistance, including protection, automation, and energy grid control systems.
“We particularly appreciate the company’s support during the 2025/2026 autumn-winter period. This cooperation helped stabilise the power system and enabled a prompt response to the consequences of russian attacks. We are also grateful for the implementation of joint projects with Ukrainian energy enterprises, in particular NPC Ukrenergo and Naftogaz of Ukraine,” Denys Shmyhal stressed.
During the meeting, the parties discussed Ukraine’s preparations for the next heating season, the priority needs of Ukrainian energy companies, and the potential for expanding cooperation.
“We view Siemens Energy as one of the key partners in the development of distributed and flexible generation, the modernisation of substations, the strengthening of energy networks, and the implementation of advanced energy system management technologies. Particular attention is being paid to cogeneration projects as an important component of the country’s energy resilience,” the Minister of Energy noted.
According to Denys Shmyhal, Ukraine is also interested in practical support regarding the use of equipment from decommissioned thermal power plants in the EU, including its modernisation and integration into Ukraine’s energy system.
“We are working on concrete solutions that will strengthen Ukraine’s energy security already today and lay the foundation for the future modernisation of the energy system,” Denys Shmyhal emphasised.
