First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal, together with the delegation led by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, visited Chisinau on the occasion of Moldova’s Independence Day.
As part of the visit, an expanded meeting was held with President of Moldova Maia Sandu.
According to Denys Shmyhal, energy cooperation was among the key issues discussed. In particular, the parties addressed preparations of the two countries’ energy systems for the winter, strengthening infrastructure protection and further integration into the European energy network.
“Key areas of cooperation include emergency mutual assistance mechanisms, coordination of energy system balancing, and the restoration and expansion of interconnectors. We are grateful to Moldova for its consistent support for Ukraine and practical cooperation that strengthens the energy security of the entire region,” Denys Shmyhal noted.
