14 February 2026, 17:54

Under the chairmanship of First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal, a regular meeting of the Headquarters for Eliminating the Consequences of Emergencies in Kyiv and the Region was held.

Denys Shmyhal reported that thanks to the round-the-clock work of repair crews and improved weather conditions, positive dynamics are observed regarding electricity supply to consumers. According to NEC “Ukrenergo”, in Kyiv today, hourly rolling blackouts were applied in up to two stages during the day, while in Kyiv region, minimal stages were in effect.

“At the same time, we must objectively assess the situation. A cold snap is expected, which will increase the load on the system, and the threat of new enemy attacks on energy infrastructure remains high. Therefore, all services are operating at heightened readiness,” emphasized the First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Energy.

Shmyhal also provided updates on the development of distributed gas generation to cover deficits in the region. According to him, an additional 9 MW were added in Kyiv region within the past 24 hours. The implementation of these projects is critically important for the resilience of the capital’s energy hub.

The Ministry of Energy continues to work on attracting support from international partners. As noted by Denys Shmyhal, today an agreement was reached for the delivery of three power transformers from Germany. Several other partners have announced intentions to contribute an additional €13 million to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine. The Ministry expressed gratitude for this support.
