On the sidelines of the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2026) in Gdańsk, in the presence of First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine — Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal and representatives of the U.S. Government, Ukrainian energy company DTEK and U.S.-based GE Vernova signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the supply of a new 650 MW combined cycle power plant for one of Ukraine’s power generation facilities.
According to Denys Shmyhal, amid unprecedented attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, investments of this scale are of critical importance for restoring and expanding the country’s generation capacity.
“This power plant will enhance the flexibility and resilience of Ukraine’s power system under wartime conditions. I thank Ukrainian energy workers for their unwavering dedication and resilience. I am also grateful to our American partners and the United States for their trust and willingness to invest in Ukraine’s energy future. Restoring energy infrastructure remains one of the key priorities on Ukraine’s path toward sustainable recovery and long-term reconstruction,” said Denys Shmyhal.
