First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal, together with the heads of the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine (GTSOU), Naftogaz of Ukraine and the leadership of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, inspected one of the key facilities of the region’s gas transmission system and its readiness for the upcoming winter.

“We reviewed the operation and resilience plan for this important facility. It ensures gas transportation to a number of Ukraine’s strategic enterprises. Work is underway to equip its protective structures and auxiliary infrastructure. The focus is on protecting the facility and ensuring its uninterrupted operation even amid enemy attacks. We are seeing good results, but we are not stopping,” the Minister of Energy noted.

During the visit, the installed mobile gas-fired generation units were also inspected. Kyiv region is one of the leaders in increasing their capacity. As of early September, 282 MW of distributed gas generation had been installed in the region. At the same time, this capacity needs to be further increased, Denys Shmyhal added.

“I thanked gas industry workers for their extremely important role in maintaining the country’s energy resilience. On the occasion of their professional holiday, industry workers were presented with state awards, including awards from the President of Ukraine. Their tireless work, professionalism and resilience remain an unwavering pillar of Ukraine’s energy security,” First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy emphasized.
