First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal chaired a weekly meeting with deputy ministers and relevant structural divisions of the Ministry of Energy to review the implementation of Ukraine's commitments under the European integration agenda.

The Minister received updates on draft laws and secondary legislation that must be adopted in the energy sector as part of Ukraine's European integration process.

"Following synchronization with ENTSO-E, we are now working on the next stage—full integration into the European energy market. This year we have already achieved an important milestone with the adoption of the law on market coupling. We are currently developing the secondary legislation that will enable the full integration of Ukraine's electricity market with the European one. This will remove barriers to cross-border electricity trade, increase market liquidity, and strengthen security of supply," Denys Shmyhal said.

He also emphasized that Ukraine has adopted legislation introducing a market premium mechanism for new renewable energy projects. The law improves the framework for conducting green auctions and creates additional incentives for the development of energy storage systems.

In addition, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved, at first reading, a draft law aimed at implementing EU legislation in the field of renewable energy. The document will further align Ukrainian legislation with European standards and promote the development of renewable energy. Work is currently underway to prepare the bill for its second reading.

"We are progressing according to schedule. Progress is being monitored step by step and at every level through a dedicated dashboard. I have instructed the team to accelerate the preparation of the necessary legislative packages," the First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Energy stressed.
