First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal held a meeting with OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann in Paris, during which they discussed Ukraine’s progress in fulfilling its commitments towards full membership in the OECD.

“Full membership in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is a strategic goal for Ukraine,” the Minister of Energy noted.

Denys Shmyhal thanked Mathias Cormann for organising the OECD Ministerial Meeting, the Organisation’s continued support for Ukraine and practical cooperation with the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA).

The First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy also highlighted the OECD’s expert assistance, exchange of experience, training and participation of Ukrainian specialists in advanced nuclear modelling activities. He stressed Ukraine’s readiness to share with partners its unique experience in ensuring the safety and continuity of nuclear power generation and the functioning of the energy system amid prolonged attacks.

“Ukraine counts on support for our application to join the Agency and for our subsequent full membership in the OECD,” Denys Shmyhal emphasised.
