According to Denys Shmyhal, procurement of equipment worth €141.5 million has been approved for Mykolaiv region through the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.

“Contracts worth €49.9 million have already been signed in line with the submitted requests. This equipment will help restore damaged infrastructure, strengthen the reliability of electricity supply, support the development of distributed generation, and enhance the physical protection of energy facilities. The transfer of additional critical equipment to Mykolaiv region is also planned under the SPARC programme, funded by the United States Government,” Denys Shmyhal said.

He also announced agreements to supply Mykolaiv region with a 1 MW battery energy storage system. According to the Minister, each frontline region will receive such equipment to strengthen the resilience of the power system and reduce the risk of emergency outages.

Denys Shmyhal also highlighted the implementation of the Ray of Hope project in the region. Ten healthcare facilities have joined the programme, with four of them already generating their own electricity.

“The total installed capacity of the commissioned solar power systems is 190 kW. We are grateful to Sweden, Germany and the United Kingdom for their support. Another six healthcare facilities are currently at different stages of project implementation,” Denys Shmyhal noted.
