The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine has completed 199 deliveries of energy equipment provided by international partners and previously operated at power plants across Europe that have since been decommissioned. The total weight of the transferred equipment amounts to 3,300 tonnes.

This was announced by First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

The equipment is already being effectively used at energy facilities in the Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Khmelnytskyi, Rivne, Dnipropetrovsk, and other regions.

Lithuania has made a particularly significant contribution.

• Through AB Ignitis Gamyba, Ukraine has received 152 shipments of equipment weighing more than 2,400 tonnes in total.
• Cooperation with the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant has enabled the delivery of an additional 41 shipments of equipment with a combined weight of 780.2 tonnes.

Germany has also provided substantial support.

• As part of the first phase of cooperation with RWE Power AG, six shipments of equipment with a total weight of 87.9 tonnes were delivered to energy companies operating in central and western Ukraine, as well as in Kyiv and Kharkiv.

Work is currently underway with Latvia to facilitate the transfer of equipment from Riga CHP-2. The equipment required by Ukrainian energy companies has already been identified, and both the estimated cost and funding source for its dismantling have been determined.

“We continue working with other facilities as well. To date, we have inspected eight decommissioned CHP plants in Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, Austria, Croatia, and the Netherlands. We highly appreciate the support of our partners. Your contribution strengthens not only Ukraine’s energy resilience but also that of Europe as a whole,” Denys Shmyhal emphasized.
