Denmark has made an additional contribution of EUR 10.66 million (DKK 80 million) to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, bringing the Kingdom's total contribution to EUR 78.5 million.

"Denmark remains a steadfast partner of Ukraine in supporting the development of the energy sector. Back in the spring of 2022, the Kingdom became the first donor to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, which today brings together 39 foreign donors from 26 partner countries and three international organizations. I am grateful to the people of Denmark, the Government of Denmark, and personally to the newly appointed Minister for Climate, Energy and Utilities, Samira Nawa, for this new contribution to the Fund. This is an important contribution to strengthening Ukraine's energy resilience, particularly as we prepare for the coming winter," said First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

Background: The Ukraine Energy Support Fund (UESF) was established in the spring of 2022 in coordination with the European Commission and the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine to help address the consequences of Russia's attacks on Ukraine's critical energy infrastructure.

The Fund serves as an effective mechanism enabling governments, international financial institutions, international organizations, and corporate donors to provide financial support for Ukraine's energy sector. These resources are used to repair damage caused by Russian attacks and ensure the uninterrupted operation of the country's energy infrastructure.
