First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal held a meeting with the renewed Supervisory Board of NPC Ukrenergo.

The parties discussed cooperation and the implementation of shared priorities, primarily related to ensuring the stable operation of Ukraine’s power system under wartime conditions.

“We identified priority steps aimed at improving the company’s operational efficiency, stabilizing the balancing market, and advancing investments and long-term projects for the upcoming autumn-winter periods. Protection measures and equipment reserves remain among our key priorities,” Denys Shmyhal stated.

The Minister of Energy emphasized that one of the most important tasks is strengthening the financial stability of the NPC, including through support from international financial institutions, in particular the EBRD and DFC. The participants of the meeting outlined further steps to achieve these objectives.

“I thank the Supervisory Board for its readiness for productive cooperation. I am confident that through joint efforts we will improve Ukrenergo’s performance and strengthen the country’s energy resilience,” Denys Shmyhal concluded.
