Ukraine is advancing its green transformation through collaboration with international partners, implementing innovative energy solutions and accelerating the decarbonization of industry.

This was highlighted by Roman Andarak, Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine, during an online meeting with Yuko Yasunaga, Deputy Director-General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

Deputy Minister Andarak emphasized that Ukraine’s top priorities include energy security and sustainability, decarbonization of industry and energy production, and the development of renewable energy and innovative technologies.

“We are particularly focused on cutting-edge solutions, from hydrogen and green ammonia to thermal storage systems, modern insulation, advanced heating systems, and digital tools for optimizing energy consumption. These technologies are essential for Ukraine’s green transformation, reducing our reliance on fossil fuels, and enhancing our energy independence,” he stated.

During the meeting, UNIDO partners presented research findings and innovative solutions in sustainable energy systems, thermal energy storage, modern insulation techniques, industrial enterprise modernization, digital energy management tools, and comprehensive approaches to climate risk adaptation.

Roman Andarak highlighted the importance of developing joint pilot projects and investing in clean technologies to strengthen Ukraine’s energy independence and support industrial recovery. “I am confident that today’s discussion will create new opportunities for investment, pilot initiatives, and technological cooperation between Ukraine, UNIDO, and our international partners,” he added.
