- The situation in Ukraine’s energy system remains challenging. Following another Russian attack on energy infrastructure, power outages have affected consumers in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Rivne, and Kharkiv regions. Emergency restoration works have been launched in all affected regions.
- The most difficult situation persists in the Kyiv metropolitan area. Due to severe cold, the load on the energy system is increasing. Emergency crews from other regions have been deployed to restore electricity and heat supply. Distribution system operators are applying network restrictions, and previously published hourly outage schedules are temporarily suspended.
- As in previous weeks, network restrictions remain in place in Odesa region. In other regions, hourly outage schedules and power limitations for industry are in effect. In several regions, emergency outages are being applied due to equipment overload during cold weather.
- Due to the massive attacks by the Russian Federation, a state of emergency is in effect in Ukraine’s energy system.
- The First Deputy Minister urged Ukrainians to support one another and, where possible, use electricity sparingly.
